Don’t Disk Me!!!

START OF POST PREFACE:

I’m sure depending on who you ask, there are certain rules to business that you don’t break..i.e. Honor the Opinion of your Customer, The Customer is always right, Have it your way (OK..that’s Burger King..but you catch my drift). I have a new rule too as of today when dealing with Customers…just Be Cool! Like Samual L. as Jewels in Pulp Fiction said,

"We are all a bunch of Fonzy’s here…and what is Fonzy…’Cool’"

Unfortunately, it never ceases to amaze me how clients never shoulder any blame for anything that goes wrong with their account…THEIR project. Case in point..the elegant email correspondence detailed below.

THE THREAT OF ACTION DEFINITELY GETS THE ATTENTION OF THE LATE, THE NON-CORRESPONDENT, THE NON or LATE-PAYING, AND THE ONES THAT ARE QUICK TO BLAME A RACE BEFORE STEPPING FORWARD AND SHOULDERING THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ULTIMATELY THEIR ACTIONS.

To All my Green, Red, Yellow, Beige, Black, and White People….ENJOY…cause this one’s for you!

END OF POST PREFACE

Sorry to here about your situation. My billing system sends AUTOMATED notifications in times that a payment is not made or missed and if it doesn’t register a scheduled payment, it is AUTOMATICALLY set to Temporarily Suspend the site in question. You went outside the previously agreed final payment structure and requested to split it in half. I was very understanding and accomodating to your need and request.

It is not the fault of myself or my Automated system for the notification that you received. I have other business activities and other clients and I am unable to monitor all payment activities and accounts (that I have in any status) personally on a day-to-day basis.

With that being said, when I received the Suspension notification moments before your site was disabled, I CANCELLED THE SUSPENSION, for all the reasons that you felt the need to site in your mailing. Furthermore, I did send you a reminder mailing on last Friday, May 14, 2010 (the due date of the final payment that you had requested) as a reminder about the final payment and the update about the Flyer artwork.

I unfortunately can’t assume anything has happened to any of my clients, when out of coincidence money is involved, and a payment(s) has yet to be received. The amount I charged you for all the deliverables that I provided to you was well below the average going rate for any organization. Adding to that my Professionalism I showed towards you, your business, and the speed in which I delivered your project and all its necessities, I feel deserved more consideration and thought prior to your mailing.

I have echoed your sentiments, ‘Black People (and White People, and Gray People, Green People, and Red People)’ several times in my time working within this arena. Unfortunately, the Notification process of an impending suspension of a website is my way of PROFESSIONALLY, and effectively reaching some clients after I have provided them with a quality service, delivered in an extremely timely manner. Judging by your reply, your business is valuable to you and you may be one of the rare individuals to actually stay the course with it.

So, your site is and has been intact WITHOUT ANY DISRUPTIONS. Thank you for your payment, and I hope you feel better soon.

I just went to it and it’s live and in action. See the attachment ‘a.jpg’. I just took this screenshot. Maybe there is an issue with your connection. I will check my server performance as that may be an issue, but at the present time I am able to access your site without issue. Again, refer to the attached image.

I hate when people play the race card…it does nothing but negate their position. I wish more people would realize this before opening their mouths or tapping away angrily at their keyboards.

However, I wonder what he would think of his public ridicule? Did you send him a link? (JK waves to your irate client).

I like you just fine ‘black man’.

Thank you kindly…just don’t become a client..you might have a different opinion…cause I’m unfair, unreliable, overpriced, unwilling to let people go without paying for my products, good for nothing….AND…if that wasn’t enough..I’m a member of the ‘Black People!!!’ Clan…BP is not only a menace to the open seas, but also to sites around the World (Wide Web)…FYI…we (Black People!!!) are having a membership interest meeting soon. INBOX me if interested.

Wow… OMG… Why is it when something is our mistake or a misunderstanding we pull the race card? Then we wonder why businesses are hesitant to do business with us. I do not know why we always have to go there? Now, if it were another person of a different race would the response have been the same (I don’t think so). I think it would have just been accepted and discussed. Monies would have been submitted and problem solved. I can appreciate your response to the client it was matter of fact and to the point. You really explained the process… I am not sure but for future reference maybe tell the clients up front in regards to website disabling. At that point there should be no questions or concerns.

    Good Luck-

I was just as shocked as you were Michelle. I understand peoples frustrations and concerns when it comes to their businesses…especially the online aspect, as most clients know only a fraction of the technical blah blah that goes on with their website, which is their company extension. However, an over-reaction response such as this one is completely unprofessional, especially when throughout this individual client’s project life cycle, I went above and beyond the call of duty and met all of my checkpoints well in advance. The race card may be necessary to play at times because sometimes race is a factor in some instances, but in this instance, it was misplayed, and used in a derogatory manner and I took it personally. Maybe taking the high road as I did will clean up the image that ‘Black People’ apparently, have portrayed throughout the years! Thanks for commenting!
